What is The 78 Portals all about?
I started this site as a training tool for myself. I needed to absorb, fix, assimilate all the info that I've been reading about the deck since this journey, which started this year, 2025. I've been an atheist during my whole life, but eventually you get old/are finally prepared/are too desperate/heard the call/lived a miracle or something like it. Sometimes all of a sudden. In any case, I devoured two or three books in a single week, and spent at least half an hour with the deck on a daily basis, without making too many notes, just absorbing and trying to figure out what could stick to my mind. But then the amount of information is overwhelming, you start to forget concepts and things, and sometimes your mind just goes blank when you are reading your spread. Intuition will only work if you are familiar with the cards already, otherwise it won't tell you anything through the cards, and you're better off just following your instinct. At least that's what I've experienced, and what I've told myself. Because when I started getting familiar with the cards, remembering their images just by telling myself "So, smarty guy, what does the Four of Cups look like? No peeking.", for example. Then I started writing. And then suddenly things started to fall into place, and that's what you'll read about here. This journey, which just started. I have many notes on paper that I'll slowly bring here to share with you. Hope you stick around, especially if you're beginning like me.
Apart from that, you can also expect a little more structured content (yes, I can do it! :) ).
- Card meanings and interpretations
- Spreads and reading techniques
- Personal insights and experiences
- Tips for beginners and advanced readers
This is my next article in the (unstructured) series: Understanding the Major Arcana, where we explore the powerful cards that form the spiritual backbone of the tarot deck.
I have a commitment with myself, now. To keep writing (yes, pen and paper), but also to keep posting here. Hope you come back for more.
